08 days to go for 2026! INTEGRITY

Wednesday 24th Dec 2025

Day 23384

24th Dec 2025 Countdown Day 08       INTEGRITY

The dictionary definition of Integrity would be something like:

-          the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles.

-          the state of being whole and undivided.

-          the condition of being unified or sound in construction.

-          internal consistency or lack of corruption in electronic data.

The origin of the word INTEGRITY seems to be from Latin integer, meaning “intact”.

INTACT as in, the way we were supposed to be. Our original nature.

When we were just newborn kids, we had an avid curiosity for everything around us.

We also were purely non-judgemental.

We were also simply joyful for no specific reason.

We were also expressing freely, crying without any restrictions, whenever we needed attention, believing that if we cried, someone would attend to us.

As we grew up, parental and social conditioning modified us and altered our child-like state. We learnt some do’s and don’ts, we started judging things as good and bad, right and wrong. Depending on each of our unique childhood experiences, we started to get conditioned. Slowly but surely our inner beliefs and values started forming. As we grow older and older, some of these inner beliefs became stronger and stronger… some were liberating beliefs, but most were limiting beliefs. This conditioning is what we carry into the adult world and it manifests in our own unique character/conduct.

Yes, we may argue that in order to navigate and survive in the real world, one needs to be able to separate right from wrong, be judgemental, learn from past experiences, become wiser by each experience etc.

But, what this does is, slowly take us away from our innate childhood nature. We cease to be “intact”.

So, integrity to me, means, being curious, being non-judgemental, being simply joyful and expressing freely. Retaining these child-like qualities, whilst navigating through our adult lives.

Another aspect is, we all tend to put on “masks” in order to hide what we truly believe/feel/think. By doing so, there is a difference between what we truly are and what we project into the world outside. We do this, as a survival mechanism. Because of our insecurities, fears and inner limiting beliefs. But what if we were to be “maskless”. Ensuring that we project our true self to the world out there? Based on the belief that there is grace and abundance always around us, how can we exhibit “integrity” of being whole and undivided. One with the whole, undivided between us and the rest?

Yes, there are rules and laws, codes of conduct etc as human beings, as a citizen of a country, as being part of an organisation etc. These are imperative as they establish the identity of that community. These are non-negotiable.

Beyond these non-negotiables, we should always conduct ourselves with utmost curiosity (awe and wonder), being non-judgemental (taking things as they are, recognising that each human is on their unique human journey), simply joyful(happiness is our true nature and every breath that we take in or exhale should be with utmost joy of life), expressing ourselves without any masks (believing in the common good of everyone and everything around us).

Live Life To The Maximum!
