To Kathmandu.... then to Lhasa and then onwards to Lake Manasarovar and Mt Kailash...
A journey being made possible by Isha Sacred Walks ....
The plan seems to be : From Coimbatore to Chennai... then fly to Delhi and then to Kathmandu. A chartered flight from KTM to Lhasa (Tibet) and then probably follow the road route via Shigatse, Lhatse , Saga onto Lake Manasarovar. See image below...
From Kathmandu at 4600 Ft above MSL to Lhasa at 11975 Ft above MSL is a massive jump. If one were to do this by road, then it would have been a gradual acclimatization. But the plan is to do this in one sheer climb by chartered flight. So we would experience a massive altitude jump in a couple of hours!! With HIS grace, all of us should be fine!! we should be spending a couple of days at Lhasa before we head to our destination...
Lhasa, the capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region, lies on the Lhasa River's north bank in a valley of the Himalaya Mountains
The Lhasa to Manasarovar stretch ( around 1400 kms !!) would be covered by Buses / 4WD vehicles I guess. That is another jump in altitude as Manasarovar is at 15060 Ft and Mt Kailash is at 21778 Ft above MSL. But being a gradual climb by road, it will give us a reasonably long enough time to acclimatize.
