Reality and Perception

Sunday 18th May 2025       Day 23164

In the aftermath of the conflict between Bharat and Pakistan, which started with the horrific Pahalgam incident on 22nd April 2025 and kind of slowed down on 10th May 2025, one sees an enormous amount of content in various media projecting something or the other.

When we sift thru these bits of information, we realise that almost 880-90% of it is untrue / biased and cannot be trusted. Why did these get put out to the general population if they were not really true? Vested interests, biased narratives or plain and simple lying? Maybe all of these and other reasons too.

Either as purveyors of information or as consumers of information, we have a solemn duty. To infer and project only the reality.

But can reality be real? When projecting information or data, won’t an element of one’s own bias creep in in the way we weave the narrative? Thus, leading the consumer of such information down the path that we unintentionally or otherwise wish to take them? How can one present data or information “as-it-is”, without any judgement, without any bias? How can we develop the clarity and the insight to see things just as they are? Not without any judgement or bias?

Every past moment of our Life, we have had numerous experiences, each of which is alive in our memory bank. This would tend to cloud the next moment in our Life. One has to tread warily to ensure that each new moment in our Life is seen through unblemished lenses, crystal clear and just as it is. Pure Insight.

How can we ensure that our perception is not some distorted form of reality?

How can we ensure that our perception is that of the true reality?

Our reactions and responses, our thoughts, words, actions, emotions etc are energised by our perceptions of each moment. We may find ourselves on the wrong paths, if our sense of perception is distorted.

Developing the ability to see things as they truly are, perfect INSIGHT, is something that we have to constantly develop and nurture. In moments of deep meditativeness, in that deep stillness, our entire energy structure and specially the Ajna chakra could possibly develop such Insight. Retaining this clarity of insight into our waking life is vital.

Sifting through the myriad lies that are foisted on us by the outside world, or, navigating through the maze that our own mind presents to us, is what will determine our journey forward.

Always keeping our compass pointed true North, towards the only Truth. Not settling for anything short of that. Not getting tempted to accept some other convenient version of events.

As Humans, every next moment of our Life is determined largely by our own past (Karma) and our perceptions. The load of Karma that we carry is inevitable. We can at least ensure that our perception is clear and that we have true Insight.

Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu

Sanskrit: लोकः समस्ताः सुखिनो भवन्तु

May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all.

Live Life To The Maximum!
